We’re experienced in handling projects large and small, and specialize in developing custom sites. Often times we are handling all aspects of the project: writing content for the site, directing and producing video and photography, creating the entire design language for the experience – fonts, colors, icons and graphics. We also handle all of the development and testing of the site, as well as taking your team through a training session once the site is live.

A new online presence

Along with a complete rebrand, Schultz Miller worked with Hansen Belyea to roll out an entirely new website. The new site showcases the exceptional homes this northwest builder brings to reality, as well as the people who make it happen.

Our process

1. Discovery

We’ll kick things off with a listening meeting, which lets us learn about your priorities and goals, and who you are as a business. With these insights, we’ll start to map out the project.

2. Navigation & Wireframing

This is where we build the user experience, including site map, navigation hierarchy, and site functionality. We’ll also create wireframes to determine messaging and content needs.

3. Messaging Development

We’ll write all site copy and original content on your site (or, if you’d prefer to, we’re happy to assist with editing). We also ensure that all copy conforms to Web best practices and optimization.

4. Visual Design

Using your brand values, we’ll create your site’s look and feel: typography, color palette, iconography, graphics, and photographic style. At this stage, we provide a digital mockup so you can get a feel for how everything’s coming together.

5. Development

We manage all aspects of the development of your website. This portion of the project involves many variables. Not only is our role to develop a site that meets your end goals, but also keep you up to date on how the project is progressing.

6. Testing & Training

We’ll place the site in a secure testing environment where we can troubleshoot issues and assess performance across multiple devices. We also familiarize you with the back-end, so you can update and edit content.

7. Site Launch

Once the testing and training has been completed, we are ready to launch the site. Depending upon the size of your website, it typically will take about 24 hours for the new website to propagate.

8. Maintenance & Service

The online world evolves: your site should, too. We are available to help keep your site functioning at its best, troubleshooting and ensuring that all necessary updates and plugins are properly installed.

Defining the content needed for a Website is a crucial first step in its design, informing both the visual layout and content schedule. Wireframing allows us to block out all pages and the associated content in each. It also helps us to determine navigation style and functionality.
